Sooooo... guess what Mr Wills bought me....

Yes... a new pair of skiiiis! Woooo!!!

They are super duper lovely and speedy!

They are ZAG multi purpose...not tooo sure what they do, but they are goooood!

Not going to lie... slightly chose them based on the graphics, but i think that i made a good choice!

We've nicknamed them 'Britney' based on my nickname at bananas, and so far Britney has performed well!!!

Thanks Jack Wills.... you are super stars for getting me some new skis... I love them!

Greeneye Challenge

The Greeneye Challenge is an annual event in Val and is essentially just a perfect excuse to get extremely hammered and have a bloody good time!

We didn't personally take part in the race (which is basically a treasure trail around Val d'Isere and the mountains with check points at various points) however as Annette was one of the check points, we decided to keep her company for the afternoon at Folie...

We arrived at Folie to find Annette bra-less... she claims that someone had stolen it, but i do believe that she might have given it away because it is pretty difficult to 'steal' a bra when someone is wearing it!

This then proceeded to me lending her my bra in return for a bottle of Rose...! (She was in a white top and I was in a hoodie so it wasnt thaaaaaat bad!)

We all started on the Rose pretty early, and I am proud to say that we were the first on the tables!

We befriended some bloke who was fully getting into the Folie spirit!

When Folie finished at 5ish, we attempted to ski down, bottle of Rose in hand, slightly worse for wear!

This was all fine until the French Police chased us down (apparently we arent allowed Rose on the piste!) This then proceeded to me staking it, loosing both skis and having to ask the police to get them from half way up the mountain for me! Pretty funny! Unfortunately our Rose was confiscated but apart from this, we made it down unscathed and headed to Saloon...!

Hands down this was the best Folie sesh yet!

Stephs Birthday!

Steph turned 22 this week, so we had champagne breakfast and Fruitier lunch!

Folie Freestyle Competition

This week a huge freestyle jump cropped up on the Face! Not going to lie... it was a pretty big jump!

It was sponsored by Folie Douce I think, because the Folie DJ, Kelly and loads of Folie bits and bobs were there!

It was a really nice atmosphere as there were stands and wierd cats on stilts wandering around....!

Generally all of the riders were pretty good, but there were rather a lot of falls... I think it was something to do with sticky snow or the slope being too short or something... but there were still some awesome jumps and they did far better than any of my attempts!

Afterwards there was a bit of a party on the slopes, which was good... DJ Davide was pumping out some beats!

Aaah yet another awesome night in Val!

Jack Wills Seasonnaires Party- take 2!

The final Jack Wills Party took place on Friday and what a party it was!

We woke up to a complete white out and lots of much needed snow... not good for Folie sessions however and we all got a slight feeling of deja vue as we remembered the blizzard that happened for the first Jack Wills party...

However, it seemed that all was not lost as the weather cleared a little and we all braved it up the hill to rave away on the tables in Folie!

Got a few shout outs from Kelly as we put all of the Seasonnaire banners up and even got to go into the DJ boothe avec DJ Daviddeeeee!!! Woooo Hoooo! (Think this made my day a little!) Oh and bumping into Ned from Neighbours.....

Aaaah what a ledgend! Got him wearing a Jack Wills Beanie... which might I add, he absolutely LOVED! What a brand ambassador to have!

So the whole day turned out to be awesome fun, and there was a sea of Beanies throughout the Folie...

Day trip to Annecy

After 4 months of shop deprivation, we felt that it was about time to go on a bit of a shopping spree, so we took the Jack Wills Land Rover and headed to Annecy for a spot of retail therapy!

After a 2 hour little road trip we pulled into Annecy and avoided the multi- storey car park in favour of a little spot by the lake! (Learning from Frasers mistakes after he narrowly avoided getting the car wedged in a car park in Tignes!)

Annecy is so so pretty... the lake is absolutely beautiful and the buildings were so nice! We initialy went purely for the shops (and definately came back to Val nicely stocked up on clothes) but it was actually so lovely and warm that we had a little wander around.

Soooo... the other day, we were bored at work, and Ricky (my boss) asked me to write the Bananas logo on the chalk board outside... It is far harder than it looks to get central and looking good... so this seemingly simple task ended up taking quite a while!

Anyway... once done, Ricky couldnt decide what to put on the board, so... we made our own signs...

We then decided to entice the punters by advertising Annettes assets to passers by...

This went down very well, with a lot of enquiries! Unfortunately they weren't too pleased when I explained that it was a joke... oh well... all good fun!

Chilling out at the X Games

This year Tignes hosted the first ever European X games. All of the seasonnaires got quite excited at the sight of the Super Pipe and there was a mass expedition from Val D’Isere to Tignes to watch the events.

Oh my gosh- the riders were amazing… back flips and 360’s galore.

I felt quite sorry for one guy who had done some amazing tricks before stacking it at the end to a crowd of boo’s… mean!!! It was a bit like a mini festival but without the mud and rain. David Guetta made an appearance for one night only and provided plenty of entertainment for the evening shenanigans!

Day 3 of the X games and the weather did not disappoint; so we whacked on our skis and boots and headed across to Tignes again. It was such a nice day that we found a great sunny spot slightly off piste half way up the Double M red run. Soaking up the rays and watching the mega jumps being taken on was awesome!

A little trip to Bourg

The Jack Wills Land Rover has come to town! Hand delivered by the Jack Wills crew last week, the land rover is the symbol of freedom! Having not actually left Val d’Isere since I arrived in November (apart from the odd trip to Bourg hospital), we are all beginning to get a little sense of cabin fever, so our small trip to the supermarket was a very exciting event!

Having collected the keys off Fraser, I had a drive around Val’s one way system first to get a feel for the beast, and then myself, Kay and Steph headed on down to Bourg!

We were very short on Diesel so I wasn’t sure if we’d make it all the way; also was a little concerned that I was going to drive off a cliff because the French don’t seem to see the need for safety barriers separating the road from sheer drops however we survived the voyage and pulled into Bourg ‘Super U’ in one piece!

Parking was interesting especially considering that the handbrake had broken, so we had a very professional technique of ensuring that the landy wasn’t going to roll away… leave it in reverse, turn the steering wheel away from other cars and wiggle…!

Once in Super U we had a field day with all the reasonably priced toiletries and food! You can actually buy a box of cereal for less than 3 euros! Amazing and fairly unheard of in Val.

Had a small issue at the checkout when Steph hadn’t weighed her carrots so the checkout lady went a bit mental at her! When Steph explained that in England we generally weigh them at the checkout she instructed Steph to go back immediately and weigh her carrots! This then led to Steph putting the carrots back having decided that they were far too much hassle, which then led to the checkout lady calling Steph crazy and questioning why she had picked up the carrots in the first place if she didn’t want them- yes Steph, why did you do that?! Why why why?!?!?!?!

Following on from this little trauma came a much larger one… we broke the car wash!

The land rover was absolutely filthy after being driven all through France by the boys on their tour of the ski resorts, so I thought that it could do with a clean! Seeing a perfectly good car wash, we asked the lady at the petrol station if we would be ok to take the land rover through it… she said yes, so this is what we did…

All fine and well until it stopped whilst we were half way through…!

This then led to us all massively panicking and realising that the only way out was the way that we had come in… given that there was now a queue of cars behind us, we had to reverse and off road it up a grass verge to get around the broken car wash!

It’s all fine though because the Land Rover is very inconspicuous so they will never know that it was us who broke it! Haha!

So anyway, despite one or two dramas, the trip went relatively smoothly and I think we successfully promoted Jack Wills to the people of Bourg having been tooted at a few times, and being stopped for photos in car parks. Mission accomplished and we safely returned to Val stocked up on cereal and with no carrots in sight!

The First of the Bluebirds

Finally... spring has come to Val d'Isere! After 4 months of freezing cold weather, Tuesday brought the most amazing sunshine and HEAT yet! Actually got a bit of a sun tan over lunch which was a rather nice change from hiding indoors atempting to warm up with the vin chauds!

Steph, Nav and Myself skied across to Tignes and soaked up the best of the rays by securing a good spot outside Tignes Cuisine eating noodles for lunch... easily the best lunch venue in Espace Killy...

Post lunch, we headed up the bubble out of Tignes and skied back to Val and got a few more runs in before a massive apres session at Follie Douce!

Follie was on form.... actually think it might have been one of the best Follies to date!

Jack Wills PARTTTYYYYYY!

Friday saw Dicks host the Val d'Isere Seasonnaire Party 2010!

WHAT A NIGHT!

The original plan was to head up to Follie for apres, however Friday hosted the seasons worst snow storm, so most of the ski lifts were closed and no one particularly fancied braving the blizzard to stand on tables drinking rose!

The new plan involved the apres party being relocated to Morris Pub where we all raved away from about 4pm!

This was a lot of fun. Official piccies are up on Jack Wills soon, however here are a few of my unofficial ones!

Post Morris we should have headed somewhere for dinner, but unfortunately for my liver, this was bypassed and instead we headed straight to Bananas where we proceeded to crack on with the 'eye opener' cocktails...

Then onto Dicks.... wooooo what a night! Awesome fun! The evening was a huge success and I think that everyone massively enjoyed themselves!

I know that there are a lot of people walking around Val with Jack Wills seasonnaire beanies on!

Novelty Pool and Diiiicccckkkksss!

Sooo...pancake day!

All very nice and yummy, but unfortunately pancakes are followed by lent, where everyone needs to give up something nice! I've opted for the usual.... 'chocolate'.... which i think is going to be very difficult considering that I am completely addicted, however I am going to give it a go and hope for the best!

My friend 'Beazle' couldn't decide what to give up, soooo I challenged him to give up all sexual contact and sexual activity for a whole week....! He claimed that this would be feasible, however in return I should give up wearing pants for the next 7 days... less feasible! The first one to break the challenge got to decide on a challenge for the other one to undertake!

I drunkenly accepted, and the challenge was on...!

Until this morning when I woke up and forgot our little bet, so went to work as usual (wearing underwear!) to loose the challenge a mere 12 hours in!

My forefit (as chosen by Beazel) is to ski the 'Face' ski slope wearing nothing but 'Jack Wills' pants! Hmmmm... might be a little chilly! Still to be decided about whether or not this challenge will be accepted... i'm thinking not however, I might be given so much abuse for this lack of showmanship, that the naked(ish) ski might be the preferred option!

Anyway, whilst me and Beazel were making challenges, a novelty pool competition was taking place!

Nav decided that his jeans were far too restricting to play the winning shot- and proceeded to take them off!

Post Foret, we headed straight to Dicks, where we proceeded to play a game of arrogance...I managed to convince Nav that the 'tails' was actually a 'heads' meaning that I luckily avoided having to down an entire jug of vodka... (Nav quickly regretted letting me off, when he had to down the whole jug on his turn!)

Bumped into the stragglers from the P-party in Saloon! Puff...

Jack Wills Stash...

Yippeeee! All of the Jack Wills stash arrived today! It got delivered to Dicks, and as luck would have it, the delivery man arrived at the same time as I was walking past on my way to Bananas!

Had a bit of a raid of the pants and the hats! Sooo cool... I love the flourescent yellow ones! Anyway... after my raid, I headed to Bananas when we proceeded to put everything on and walk around serving customers...!

Unfortunately our attire was considered 'unprofessional' so had to be removed, but I thought we looked rather good! haha!

Lilly's Birthday!

For Lilly's birthday, she booked a table at Pedrix Blanches, which is typically a seafood restaurant.... this suited Lilly perfectly as a little seafood fanatic...

This platter was actually singularly for Lilly...!

It was mainly all of the snowberry crew that were present which was a bit risky considering all of them had to be up very early for work the next day... this didn't seem to be stopping the alcohol consumption around the table however, and I think by the end we managed to get through quite a few carafs of wine!

After dinner Lilly had made "blondies" for everyone.. which are essentially white chocolate brownies which we made into her birthday cake... soooooo yummy!

She definately knew the way to the boys hearts!

Valentines Day...

Valentines day... and despite my millions of offers for dinner dates, obsecene amounts of flowers and about 20 marriage proposals... I decided to reject them all in favour of accompanying my friends to Moris for a spot of speed dating!

Can't say that ive ever done speed dating before...(haha) but it was so so fun! We all started on the drinks fairly prompto in an attempt to mask any potentially very cringe worthy awkward silences!

The boys were hoping by drinking copious amounts of 'love potion'... it might up their game a little!

There was also a minor men shortage as girls seemed to out number them by approximately 10 to 1! Luckily Stu, Will and Nav arrived to save the day! Haha!

Katherine got into the spirit of things...! The lack of men obviously wasn'y necessarily an issue for some...!

Jack came with a set of emergency questions....'just in case!' Soooooo... do you come here often Stu?! Yes... quite often Jack!

Some of the Bananas and V Spot lot (plus a token nanny and Dick’s employee!) decided to go out to Victors for dinner! Victors is pretty well known for its 2 for 1 cocktails during happy hour, so we strategically booked the table for this time and got going with making out way slowly through the drinks menu!

A few (or many) cocktails and a main course later, we headed to Danois…

There was definitely some shapes being made on the tables in Danois!

We don’t tend to go to Danois very often, but it was really fun, so I think we might make this a more regular location on our nights out!

Later we headed to Dicks, where Steph decided to accept the challenge of eating a frozen drink of dregs left outside Dicks in the snow! She was told it was a frozen lollipop, and accepted the challenge to try and eat it within 30 seconds…

… 1 min 30 seconds later… ice lolly (frozen dregs) were all over Steph (quite a lot were in her handbag) and Steph owed Henry 10 euros having lost the challenge and her dignity….! Good Girl!

Jack Wills Competitions and Parties!

Just found out about the Jack Wills Parties hitting Val on the 26th of February and the 26th of March... CAN'T WAIT!

We're expecting a delivery or Jack Wills Beanies and Party Pants in the next few days, so I'm fully preparing to bombard Val's cool kids with lots of Jack Wills goodies!

Also got 2 little competitions going on... basically we have a massive stash of Jack Wills pheasant stickers which we are handing out for everyone to sticker up Val d'Isere! Anyone can get these stickers from myself, Emma, Fraser or Penny (hence pop into Bananas or Dicks) and we want everyone to stick them in the best places possible... either funny or legendary! Take loads of pics, whack them up on the Jack Wills Seasonaire facebook group and the best photo might win either a pair of skis or super cool goggles!

The fancy dress parties in Saloon are always pretty good, but the latest 'Bad Taste' theme was a particularly good one!

Myself and Steph decided to go as over the top 'Bananas girls'! This essentially was completely taking the mick out of ourselves by dressing as barbie dolls in tight skirts, low tops and lots of make-up, but the end effect was rather amusing! Kay also embraced the theme and hopped on board with a beautifully clashing pink number!

First stop was Foret for some Toffee Vodka shots...

When at Saloon, we went slightly all out with the shots and Jager Bombs... DO NOT HAVE THE FISHERMANS FRIEND ONE... it is absolutely disgusting!!!

After Saloon, we headed to Dicks (as per usual!) to find the back bar had been transformed into Doctor Shipmans surgery, complete with Ali as Doctor Shipmanhimself! OAP's welcome!

My impromptu night out!

The best nights out, generally tend to be those most impromptu! This was most definitely the case two nights ago!

I was having a few small drinks in Bananas after work and these few small drinks turned into many larger ones, and I never actually made it back from work until about 5:00am the next day!

I am blaming this drunken evening 100% on the lovely boys I met called Charlie, Steve, Simon and Olly! They came into Bananas around 4:00pm whilst I was still working and proceeded to buy myself and my boss Ricky, copious amounts of alcohol! This was gratefully received, so my few quiet ones never really had a chance!

Does it technically count as ‘going out’ if you were never really in?!

Sunday was such a sunny day that myself and Kay decided to hit the slopes and make the best of the powder!

Kay (who is now happily mump free) is usually a snowboarder, but I managed to pursuade her to give skiing a go... the only problem is her slightly wobbly snowplough... however I decided to take her upto the top of the Olympique and give her a little lesson!!!

So after about an hour or so... Kay had genuinely improved loooooaaadss.....must be my amazing ski instructing skills!!!

She was actually a very fast learner... I was seriously impressed!

We then headed across to Tignes... it was such a nice day and perfect snow conditions, but it was ABSOLUTELY FREEZING!

We had a mini pit stop and took to the deck chairs!

Val d' mumps and broken wrist!

Soooo... two of my best friends in Val have decided to become very good customers to the Doctors and Bourg hospital...

Firstly Kay was diagnosed with mumps, so is fully bed bound...

She will probably kill me for sharing this with the world... but I do feel very sorry for her! Having said this... I am avoiding our apartment like the plague for fear of catching the hampster faced infection!!!

Then, my other little partner in crime fell on the ice and nearly got squashed by a van, resulting in a trip to Bourg hospital with a broken wrist...

Again... she will probably kill me for sharing this picture, however, I feel that Cress is one of very few people who can pull off a hospital gown and slippers!!!

Oh dear... get well soon girlies, I need my little wing men back!!!

Will's 24 hour flying visit!

My friend Will came to visit for a day and what a 24 hours they were… aaah very amusing and eventful!

We started with a bit of pre-drinking in my shoebox of an apartment and Jonny and Will decided to play a game of beer pong on the kitchen floor...

Their version was slightly different as it involved knocking a bottle top off a beer bottle but for those unsure on how to play beer pong... it basically involves throwing a ping pong ball into a cup of beer and if you manage to get it in, then your opponent has to drink! Highly skillful!

Like all good visits to Val d’Isere, I then took them to Bananas and Dicks and showed them the ropes...

Will very nearly got kicked out for having a snooze in the corner...

He was saved from this fate very narrowly by somehow pursuading the bouncer that 'he was not drunk, just very sleepy after a hard day driving...'!

Dicks was great fun, and the night was rather uneventful until...

Jack; one of Will’s friends, decided to try and rugby tackle Gen; another one of his friends, to the floor... this happened in the middle of the road outside Dicks! All fine until Jack totally stacked it and completely destroyed his leg, meaning that he couldn’t stand up and was lying in the middle of the road in pain! A few hours and Bourg hospital later, Jack was ok, but still unable to ski so he was left there to recover over night and throughout the following day whilst the rest of us hit the slopes! (Pretty mean but it had to be done!)

Will did the best wipe out I think that I have ever seen… oh my gosh… it was AMAZING! Basically he came racing down this hill, up the slope and properly took off! Flew absolutely miles before landing and somehow catapulting himself out of his skis onto his face….!

Day of Paragliding in Val!!

I had a awesome surpise one morning...! i was told to meet at 2pm on the mountains for a ski.. only to find out that i was going paragliding and everything was all ready to go!

a perfect sunny day!! It was an awesome experience and going straight down a mountain at great speed on ur ski's for take off was epic!

The views of the mountains were awesome!

after paragliding we went for a ski and then chilled at the Le Bar de L'Ouillette on the mountains!

Awesome day skiing...and facepaint night at bananas!!

I joined Henry and Amigo on my day off for a epic day of skiing the weather was perfect along with the snow!

We got involved with a bit of off piste and apres ski! which made the start of my day off a joy!

Then later on that day Bananas had a facepaint night!! :-D

Jono,Henry and I were going to go as animals but somehow...managed to all look like some sort of scary clown....!

It was a epic night of pinning people down and drawing all over there faces....! ha

Parents visit!

This week, my parents headed out to Val d’Isere which was great because it meant a week of nice meals, and a bit of luxury as opposed to the usual seasonaire slumming it!

They stayed in the Avenue Lodge Hotel, which was soooo nice! I fully utilised the spa facilities and even got treated to a facial, which was amazing!

Parents also brought with them loads of nice goodies, I was completely spoilt and had a late Christmas day on Saturday night which was fab!

This week also saw Val d’Isere host the World Snow Polo Masters:

It was so so so fun to watch, really weird watching a polo match half way down the ‘Face’ ski slope, but equally there was a very good atmosphere.

Also had loads of food stands giving away goodies, so myself and Steph were fully utilising the free hot chocolates!

So, what else happened… Two of the army boys came to Val for one night only, so that was a good night…This also coincided with Dougal leaving Val d’Isere and heading back to Australia… sooooo sad! This was quite a drunken night out...

We have been ridiculously lucky with the weather this week, loads of snow and also loads of sunshine, so this has meant that the skiing has been amazing! My parents definitely chose a good week to come!

Had a massive wipe out on Thursday and completely destroyed my knee as I was attempting to show off by skiing backwards! Basically hit a lump of powder and went absolutely flying! Unfortunately for my knees, they went in opposite directions to my skis and my silly bindings were on too tightly meaning that they didn’t come off… owch! Moral of the story… don’t show off by skiing backwards!

Aaah such a good week!

Well… that’s it! The army have officially left Val d’Isere! Six weeks of mayhem and drunkenness later and we are back to the usual seasonaires, who I must admit do seem rather tame in comparison! Now that is saying something!

At least they left with a bang! Their last night was very drunken to say the least but all very fun and it is actually really sad to see them leave!

So… what else has happened! Well…I’ve had a lovely ‘Formal Friday’ session at Follie Douce with the Dicks crew…

Numerous drunken Dicks sessions…

And myself and the girlies have had a little dinner party at Cress and Coleen’s chalet!

Also had a very drunken night out with Steph, Amy, Sophie and Becky where we basically got a little too drunk on Jager bombs in Moris Pub…

Day skiing in the hidden valley!

The start of a awesome day off began with a epic day skiing down the hidden valley!

It was an overcast day but the powder was wicked which made it enjoyable!

We then headed for apres ski and after got ready for a bar cruel ending up in doudoune.......!!

Seeing as my housemate and i were off work on the same night for once we hit town together for a epic night along with Nickie! luckly this night was also ladys night in doudoune!! which meant we get free champagne all night!

So we started of at the Danois then headed to Dicks for a bit!!

We then made our way to doudoune! But by the time we all made it to ladys night we were all pretty merry....... and after our 7th glass of champagne it all became very intertesting.........! haha

Drink out of a tea cup only night in Bananas!

One of my crazy friends Nickie was made to drink every drink out of a tea cup all night, which meant even if she was to be given a shot the tea cup would have to be filled right up to the top........!

Crimbo and New years in Val!!

First christmas away from home in snowy Val Disere!

My family were out to visit along with my pet dog lucy of course!!

So was able to celebrate crimbo still with the family with a big dinner and lots to drink!! :-D

New Years at bananas!!

New years was a very long drunken shift working till 7 in the morning drinking jagerbombs and shots all night to the point were henry replaced my jagerbombs with water so i was still able to serve! brilliant night!! we then all headed straight to the danois for breakfast at 8am!

We also had the pleasure of damo and olly attempting to be djs after several freestylers and jagerbombs!

from what was going to be one drink in dicks after work then going home turned in to several drinks in dicks and then heading to doudoune for more drinks!

Which then led us all in to thinking it would be a brilliant idea to sneak in to the Val Disere hotel swimming pool!! although we really were not that sneaky about it...... climbing over the fence giggling and henry taking a big dive on top of the pool cover!!

New Years Week!

New Years week! What a week- aaah sooo much to tell! OK, well I feel that I might have overdone it a bit on the whole alcohol consumption! First major downfall was going to Dicks and getting a little worse for wear on New Years Eve eve!

Despite me promising myself to save it for a biggie on New Year, as per usual, I got a little carried away and only came to my senses at 4:00am when Tom (who works in Bananas with me) tried his hardest to persuade me to accompany him to DaDoune! This wasn’t because he wanted me to join him; it was purely so that he could have free entry (boys with girls in tow get in for free!) Oh dear!

So… New Year Eve morning I woke up with a stonking hangover to face a killer 20 hour shift at Bananas! Technically not possible you may think… however 11:00am until 7:00 am the day after, is the shift I faced… never an enjoyable prospect! To make this situation far worse, Steph- my Bananas partner in crime was sent home so that she could have a small nap before the night shift ensued… meanwhile, I am stuck working the marathon shift, dying of alcohol poisoning… slightly unfair!!!

Anyway, despite my killer shift, it was actually quite fun in the end! Steph returned and we got suitably drunk behind the bar (my hangover subsided by après and I was forced to ‘get back on it’ by the punters!)

It was so so funny, Steph completely stacked it behind the bar taking a round of drinks down with her! Meanwhile, I was demoted to glass collected because I was being too generous with the amount of alcohol in the vodka ‘with a dash of pomme’s!’
7:00am came soon enough and we all stumbled across to Danois to continue the gallivanting by boogying on the tables! I have the most humongous bruise on my back thanks to falling off the table at one point… owch! Steph also stacked it, throwing alcohol all over me on her way down! As you can imagine, this early morning shin dig was far from civilised, but never the less very fun!

So 8:30am came and Danois started breakfast… AMAZING! Most of us were dying and falling asleep…

Haha! Finally made it to bed at 10am!

3:00pm New Years Day… Follie Douce is calling!

Braving the snow!

It was a full on snow storm up the mountain, but I think we were all a little delirious from lack of sleep and probably all still drunk! Myself and Steph made it back onto the tables!

From here, we accompanied the boys to Le Foret… Max had a bit of an incident on the bus back from La Daille, when some mental French man decided to collar and head butt him but he assured us that it must have hurt the French dude more due to his poor aim on the forehead! Oh dear! May I just add that this does not happen often in Val, so we were all a bit surprised about this unprovoked act of violence!

Max wasn’t too fazed, so we all just hit the warm toffee vodkas… AMAZING! I think this is my new favourite drink… basically it is melted down Worthers Originals mixed with milk and vodka… they are so yummy!

We also found a random cat, which came to join the party!

From here, we headed for some dinner in Bananas then off to Morris! Pretty eventful 48 hours!

Soooo…. Saturday 2nd of January and we hit Dicks! Oh dear… oh dear! We bumped into Mike and Will who work at Morris and basically ended up accompanying them back there for an after party…

Baileys shots….! May I just add that the boys provided the Baileys- no illegitimate drinks were consumed on the premises!!!

Sunday 3rd of Jan! Skiiiiiinnnnngggggg! So funny… we all thought it would be a fab idea to go in convoy down the mountain (in a big train formation holding onto the person in front) however, we picked up quite a pace and I went flying off piste into a huge mound of snow… apparently it was rather amusing, however I’m not convinced face planting into snow is as fun as it sounds! Moral of the story... don’t snake down mountains in convoy!

Post Christmas

Sleep is massively under rated! I have been seriously deprived of this luxury for the past few weeks and last night I had the best sleep ever… a full 8 hours! Aaaah I feel so healthy for it!

Granted… I massively needed this sleep, especially since the night before I might have got very drunk and stumbled in at 5am waking everyone up… ooops! All good now though… I bought some apology chocolate doughnuts which seemed to do the trick!

So... I have just realised quite how far Le Fornet is from where I live! I didn’t discover this fact until I walked back home from there at about 4am the other night! Being the Good Samaritan that I am, I decided to very nicely walk a drunken friend home from Dicks… however I was extremely under false pretences about where this friend lived! Oh my gosh… SO FAR! Not doing that again- its blumming miles away!

Had such a fun night out 2 nights ago… had a bit of a gathering at a school friend’s apartment which was fun despite the many embarrassing stories that emerged!

As all good parties should be, this was followed by a Jager Bomb sesh with Steph in Saloon…

Then Dicks!

Quite a lot of gossip involving one particular JW seasonaire and a very lovely friend of mine! I played cupid and it successfully paid off last night if my photo evidence is to be trusted! However… little bit scared to share this evidence because I am sure there will be far more dirt on me by the end of the season… don’t particularly fancy laying down the gauntlet as I feel I might loose that battle!

Still not new year yet… building up to it this week! Have a feeling that I might be working in Bananas; still to be confirmed, but if this is the case then I will have some serious goss to share next week!

First 2 weeks in Val d’ilash

first 2 weeks in Val d’ilash…...!

So far so good! Val disere is a epic place to be for a ski season! The first month of being here has involved a lot of drinking and visits to dicks tea bar every night after Banana's..!

Fraser (manager of Dick's) likes to label me as there most regular customer...haha! whilst Penny labels me as a piss head......as he is normally on the door when i come running up jumping on him with a loud screaming HELLO!! :-D

I have Managed to get one days skiing in so far but will be improving this next month to more skiing less drinking…..promise..! :-D

Working at the banana bar is epic! And I have the two most hilarious, immense guys (jono and henry) to work behind the bar with!

All three of us have a points system on who gets the most drunk when working on shifts! I some how…..seem to be in the lead! How this has happened I don’t know…. henry is the biggest drinker in Val and dicks tea bars biggest client of the season who likes to splash out on at least two bottles of vodka a night...............! haha

I have met some awesome people out here! A regular croud at bananas is the English army out here for 6 weeks. They are in bananas every night with out a doubt! Christmas Week!

Christmas week… and WHAT a week! My memories of this week are a big blur of drunken antics and skiing massively hung-over! Aaah… story of my life in Val so far!

I sampled my first Follie Douce spaghetti bolognaise on Christmas eve… they came highly recommended from Freddie and George, and all I can say is that it did not disappoint!

Christmas Eve was then followed by a very drunken meal out with the girlies… me and my housemate Kay didn’t shy away from the woo woo cocktails and some serious pre drinking in our little apartment before dinner...! Big error… especially when it came to ordering food! Trying to speak French whilst under the influence is an absolute nightmare!

Post dinner we all hit Bananas hard and got in a few rounds of Emily Specials! Hmmm… more alcohol!

Emma and myself might have got ourselves into a little bit of trouble with our manager Henry for generally being drunk and disorderly… ooops!

I think we stayed in Bananas until the end and then headed to Dicks, however my memory fails me a little at this point soooo…. We could have gone via Saloon for a few triangles… dangerous!

Christmas day was a bit of an anti climax really! Everyone was feeling so ill from Christmas Eve that work was a bit of a struggle especially when the Army lot decided that they would have Christmas dinner in Bananas! A few bottles of Port and After Shock later... they decided to march to Saloon to the sound of bagpipes… now that’s not a site you see in Val very often!

Post work…we headed to Petit Danois for Christmas dinner, such a shame I couldn’t really stomach the free wine after the night before, but it was fun never-the-less! Very festive!

This one is especially so that Dave (the guy with MASSIVE guns!!!) can have his own special mention!

Pants Party!

So so so sleepy! Actually think I might just HAVE to go to bed before midnight out of lack of being able to keep my eyes open!

Last night was such a good night though- definitely worth the pain I am feeling today! It was Ben’s 26th birthday, so in true boy style he decided to have a PANTS PARTY! (He was hoping for a party in his pants… but this didn’t materialise due to the fact that there was a boy to girl ratio of 10:1!)

Being one of the lucky 4 girls to be invited to this pants party, I decided to shy away from the skimpy frills that the boys were hoping for and instead opt for a more practical pair of spotty shorts! Cheated slightly by sporting a pair of black skinny jeans underneath…but I am all for the practicality, especially in minus 27 degree temperatures!

Now I can honestly say, despite spending 3 years at Newcastle University, I have never quite been in a situation like last night…! It was an experience to say the least… 40 guys all sporting very small pants or boxers playing drinking games and generally being semi naked in a very small apartment! I don’t think the pictures do the party justice… it was absolutely hilarious! Male bonding on a whole new level! My 3 female counterparts and I were massively out numbered and our outfits severely mediocre in comparison!

We bought Ben a lovely classy magazine to keep him entertained whilst in Val! Tried to find the most attractive pictures we could but settled on some less attractive ‘models’ to spice things up a little! Very embarrassing having to actually purchase the magazine, especially when the lady in the newsagents was one of the sweetest old French ladies ever! Ah well... It was much appreciated apparently and the free DVD demonstration has been used wisely so I’ve heard!
So after the pants party, we all headed to Saloon to the famous ‘Pimps and Ho’s’ party, all I can say is that the bar people in Saloon are all total hotties but so so brave to wander around in bras- hats off to them (or tops as the case may be!)

Despite still having a twinge of tonsillitis…my absenteeism from shots has well and truly come to an end! Saloon triangles are just far too easily downed….plus I hate to admit it but I am unfortunately hugely susceptible to peer pressure, “down it Emily”… “Roger that!”

Sooo…. Other happenings in Val this week… I went for a night time Crepe with Jim at this really cosy restaurant! The banana and chocolate crepes are hugely recommended!

Also cooked a yummy tomato and bacon pasta dish for dinner with Cress last night… mmmm it was goooood!

My parents sent out my replacement credit cards yesterday after they all got stolen in my first week… this is the best news ever because I now have access to moneyyyy and can stop borrowing money of my lovely housemates!

Very sweet, I also got a new camera (bit of an early Christmas present) which came complete with pictures from home on! Aaaah I miss my doggies!

Mummy also sent a picture of our Christmas tree…

It was a very cute thought… I do need to teach my mother that there are easier ways to share photos that don’t involve sending the whole camera to France, however the thought was there and it was very sweet when I opened the parcel spilling lots of sprinkles onto the bar in Bananas!
Right… that’s all there is to report for the moment….

I have tonsillitis... booo!

Well… I have tonsillitis! Its official! I’ve had a sore throat now for a few days. I tried to ignore it and pass it off as an extended hangover, but two days ago, after a nightclub examination by one of the army medics, I succumbed and took myself off to the doctor! This wasn’t too much of a chore because rumour has it that the new Val d’Isere doctor is a total hottie, however upon my arrival at the medical centre as luck would have it, fitty doctor Al had his day off… boo! Anyway, I saw the other doctor who was very sweet and prescribed me with a cocktail of medication to aid my suffering!

In theory, this prognosis should mean early nights and hot chocolates; however this is all sooooo boring, so I have been out and about as usual, but have been taking it easy with the old shots!

Had a really good day skiing with the gang! It is flipping freezing at the moment though, so there were quite a few vin chaud stops whilst I thawed my toes!

Had a really nice little meal out as a farewell to Leo (girl with the ski poles on her head!) Also went out for an amazing fondue with Freddie and George… it was soooooo good! We went to the Lodge, which was really fun, plus Freddie ordered the most amazing chocolate cake which came with melted crème caramel… oh my gosh… divine! Myself and Cress, might have polished that one off… Sorry Freddie!

It was also Matt’s birthday this week, so we had another meal out (hmmm… yes I know, I need to stop with the meals out!) We made him a ‘love lemon’ as a pressie, which I think was fully appreciated! Despite some punters offering to refer me to their psychiatrist, the love lemon (which is a lemon decorated with market pen) was gratefully received! Oh dear… it is the mountain air… I promise I’m not a complete psycho!

Val is EPIC!

Hello everyone!

Well… what can I say- Val d’Isere is AMAZING! So so so much fun, literally I strongly recommend for anyone and everyone to do a ski season because it is the most fun in the whole world!!!

Been here for a few weeks now and have a LOT of gossip and antics to fill you all in on! Most involving having one too many Jager bombs in either Bananas, Saloon or Dicks!

Met some very amusing people… the British Army are out here for a little while so they have been hitting it hard most nights in Bananas until it was decided that Bananas was counter productive to ‘meetings’ resulting in a relocation to V-Spot. This was swiftly changed back to Bananas after I wrote a letter to the colonel explaining that this relocation was severely unfair because I wouldn’t have anyone to chat to across the bar at 6:00pm most evenings! Like all good diplomats, there was a vote, which concluded unanimously that meeting were to be returned back to bananas immediately…. RESULT! Oh… this was also accompanied by an invitation for myself and Emma to attend the colonels cocktail party- champagne and brandy is not a healthy combination for us little girlies when trying to compete with army officers!

So… what else has been happening! Well… the majority of my nights have been spent in Dicks drinking Vodka Pommes (which is a drink that definitely needs to catch on in England… it could potentially be one of your 5-a-day due to the apple juice content!) This lack of being able to taste the vodka might have contributed to me being carried out of Dicks most nights because I refuse to accept that Dicks has closed… hmmmm not cool!

There is also a small possibility that I had to spend the night on Fraser’s sofa after forgetting the door code to my building! Very comfy though and did have a lovely Jack Wills duvet!

So in between all of this partying, there have been moments of civilisation! Have had a few lovely days on the slopes; managed to get myself extremely lost when I accidentally skied off to the right when the rest of my group went left! This resulted in having to side step half way up a mountain whilst everyone stood at the top and laughed at me!

Have also had a private firework display in preparation for new years eve- which was lovely and have had a few little dinner parties- which were very refined!

This week, Freddie and George (JW HQ) have headed out to Val for a week of mayhem! They have been sampling the delights of ‘Emily Specials’ and ‘Emma Specials’ (our own personal freestylers… mine is far yummier- however Emma would like to think that hers tastes best!!!)

Finally… meet our boss Ricky! He is a complete legend…! Enough said!

That’s all to report at the moment! I will keep you updated and try to get on the case with some videos- I believe the boys are doing a sterling job of this so I feel that myself and Emma have to up our game!

From Tour to Tour............The life of a seasonnaire! :- )

Just arrived back from the East Coast Tour two days ago which was an epic, action packed 3 weeks of mayhem! which i am hugely missing. BUT............ i am now ready to hit Val D'isere's snowy mountains as a JW's seasonnaire!!! :-D I am going to be working at the Banana Bar, which is the best bar in Val!!! I can not wait, after alot of planning everything is now ready and flights are booked, will be arriving on the 2nd December! Just had my early farewell christmas dinner with the family tonight! delicous!

Received a large box of awesome goodies from Mr Wills at work today! lots of clothes and loving the union jack pillow case and the navy/pink duvet - the unofficial mascot, Lucy, has taken a particular liking too! Cheers Jack!

Jack Wills Goodies!!!

This morning I received a huge box of Jack Wills clothes which are all AMAZING! There is so much stuff! Feels a little like Christmas has come early...

This is all well and good, however this has not helped my packing dilemma... There is no way in a million years that all of this is going to fit in! I think I'm going to have to wear a lot of it to travel in!

Anyway I have picked out a few of my favourite things to show you...

1. The Val d'Isere seasonaire T-shirt- this is a definite favourite purely because it has the best resort logoed onto it!

2. The Seasonaire Hoodie- it is SO cosy and has a nice big hood for keeping the snow off!

3. Jack Wills PJ Bottoms- They are awesome! So fleecy and soft... I think I may keep them on under my ski trousers when I'm skiing!

4. Earmuffs- Totally underrated... I definitely think they need more press! They are super cool and will keep my ears nice and toasty in the snow!

5. Bobble Hat, Blue Beanie and Pink Scarf- All are a must when you're up the mountain!

Sooo.... there you are...some of my goodies!

Hello all!

Well... the time has come! After months of planning, I have finally booked my flights and am now flying off to Geneva on Saturday to start my ski season working for Bananas in Val d'Isere! Eeeek EXCITING!

In addition to this I am also one of four 'Val' Seasonaires, hitting the bars and slopes to find out all of the gossip and antics on behalf of 'Jack Wills'.... Its a tough job but someone has to do it!

I am currently trying to pack up all of my stuff... and in the process my room looks like a bomb has just gone off! I have no idea how I am supposed to fit 5 months worth of clothes into my 1 week sized suitcase- however this is all part of the experience!

Right... better get back to it!
